Alright guys, its time for us to stop just doing the same basic TD we've ran for years, and here's one idea.
Teams: See below
Objective:
Team 1- Succesfully ambush enemy team, and eliminate half of enemy forces. Once objective accomplished, or 2 minutes has passed, break contact and rally at respawn area to be determined and agreed upon by team 1 only. If enemy appears to be about to overwhelm, break contact and retreat.
Team 2- Patrol along designated path, following chain of command. Detect and evade ambush, RETURN FIRE ONLY, attempt to avoid contact if possible without deviating from path. If ambush is detected succesfully, you may go around ambush, or retreat, but this is the only situation in which you may deviate from path. Once ambushed, DO NOT RETREAT, push through the ambush. Your goal is just to force ambushing team to retreat, break contact and fall back to designated respawn.
Success Team 1- Primary-Kill half of team 2, Secondary- successfully break contact and regroup after 2 minutes is up.
Failure Team 1- Fail to kill half of team 2, be forced to retreat.
Successs Team 2- Primary- Avoid Ambush, Secondary- Force team 1 to retreat. Secondary- Don't allow team 1 to break retreat after contact is initiated.
Failure Team 2- Allow half of members to be killed in ambush, allow team 1 to escape after contact.
Weapons will be balanced out depending on team sizes. I want ambushing team to have weaker weapons to simulate rebel/guerilla warfare. Also if necessary, personel will be added to team 1 to give them larger numbers to compensate for weapons. Also limited ammo will be given to team 1. Obviously we don't want someone constantly playing one side of the scenario so if we can't find a way to balance the teams out to give equal experience, then the teams will just have to be how they currently are.
Edit- Possibly just for fun we should use simulated grenades for the ambushed team. Just 1 grenade, if you dont get away from it (10 ft), you're dead. Possibly use a tennis ball. When you throw it, just yell "GRENADE!" I know this gets rid of any possible surprise, but since there are no scattering bb's it just forces the other team to realize that it has been used.
